Internet safety

Cover your tracks.

If someone may be watching your device or accounts, take a moment to protect yourself before continuing. These are simple steps anyone can take — no technical skills required.

An important note

No method is 100% safe. If your abuser has installed monitoring software, knows your passwords, or shares your accounts, they may still see your activity. When in doubt, use a device they don't have access to — a friend's phone, a library computer, or a work computer.

The Safety Exit button

Every page on KALMA has a red Safety Exit button in the bottom-right corner. Click it — or press the Esc key twice quickly — to instantly leave this site and open a weather page instead. You'll still need to clear your history using the steps below to remove the visit completely.

Use private browsing

Private or "incognito" windows don't save your history, cookies, or searches after you close them. This is the easiest way to visit KALMA without leaving a trace.

Chrome / Edge

Ctrl + Shift + N (Windows) · ⌘ + Shift + N (Mac)

Safari

⌘ + Shift + N (Mac) · File → New Private Window

Firefox

Ctrl + Shift + P (Windows) · ⌘ + Shift + P (Mac)

Phone (iOS / Android)

Tap the tabs icon → Private / Incognito
